Insectemy – The
Insect Respect Academy for Insect Support
How can landscape gardeners make their customers‘ areas more sustainable? More and more companies and garden owners are asking how their areas can be transformed to benefit biodiversity. With Insect Respect, gardeners learn how to plan insect-friendly habitats and thus open up new business opportunities. A free online event on 18th January 2022 will provide information on how to do this.
- Why the future of gardens and company grounds must be species-rich
- How landscape gardeners score points in regional competition through competence for diversity
- What horticulturists, landscape architects and designers can do for their clients and for insects
- How to tell if an area strengthens biodiversity
- Where to qualify as an insect-friendly horticultural partner
„Let’s create thousands of habitats for the precious six-legged creatures.“
Oliver Meyer studied landscaping and is a trained landscape gardener. After years of experience in landscaping companies, as a garden designer for a hardware shop chain and as a self-employed planner and designer of diverse areas, he has been enriching the Insect Respect team since 2021. In particular, he supports companies in the creation of insect-friendly habitats. As head of Insectemy – Insect Respect Academy for Insect Support, founded on 1st September 2021, he wants to spread the opportunities of species-rich habitats for landscape gardeners, companies and private garden owners. Oliver Meyer is also studying for an MBA in Sustainability Management at Leuphana University Lüneburg.
Dr Hans-Dietrich Reckhaus is a transforming partner in the family business of the same name. Since 2012, he has been transforming his company’s business model – from a manufacturer of insect control products to a provider of ecological services for insect conservation. With Insect Respect, the sign for a new approach to insects, he raises social awareness of the value of and threats to insects and creates insect-friendly habitats. More and more companies are greening their areas with Insect Respect.
